DIGITAL ART & ANIMATION CAMP STAFF
After graduating from Caldwell Academy in 2001, Katie Anderson attended Toccoa Falls College earning a BA in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in Bible. Katie worked at Caldwell Academy as a teachers’ aid and teacher, teaching Bible and History from 2006-2010. While raising her three children Katie developed and ran her own Fine Art business. Katie enjoys working with people in the community to create custom pieces in wax and acrylic for their homes and offices. Katie returned to Caldwell in 2021 as the Rhetoric Fine Arts teacher.
INSTRUMENT & PERCUSSION CAMP STAFF
Daria Poe is in her sixth year of teaching at Caldwell Academy. She teaches instrumental music to a large variety of ages, from fourth grade beginners all the way through seniors in the Rhetoric School. In her time at Caldwell, Daria has grown the size of the band ensembles, and she has also been able to add a thriving Ethnic Percussion program. She has had students participate in the NCAIS Honor Band and the Carowinds Music in the Parks Festival.
Originally from Charleston, SC, Daria moved to Greensboro, NC to attend UNC-Greensboro. While there, she studied flute with Dr. Erika Boysen and received her Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education. During her time in college, Daria enjoyed collaborating with the theatre department and other colleagues to record music for projects like James and the Giant Peach and The Icebreaker Cycle.
